Letter From Our President

Eleanor Gilbert

Welcome to the Delta Omega Chapter of Delta Delta Delta.  My name is Eleanor Gilbert and I currently serve as the President of Delta Delta Delta at Louisiana State University.  I am proud to represent my chapter of 350 sisters, from cities near and far.

For a small town girl like me, being a part of Greek life makes LSU’s huge campus seem smaller.  And after the first day of recruitment, I knew I wanted Tri Delta to be my home.  It is where I felt loved and where I knew I could become my best self.

Each sister in our chapter brings a different perspective, but we each share the same affection and dedication to one another.   We like to say that we don’t want you to come to Tri Delta and be like us, we want you to come to Tri Delta and be you!  We are forever sisters, establishing relationships that will last a lifetime.  Our motto, in Latin, translates “Let us steadfastly love one another.”  This is life as a Tri Delta!

Our members strive for academic excellence and are very active on campus in numerous organizations.  Your four years as a Tri Delta will be a time of growth in leadership, philanthropy, and relationships as you realize your potential in a loving, encouraging group of lifelong friends.  Tri Delta sees your potential, holds you accountable, challenges you to meet a higher standard, encourages you to achieve your dreams and helps you uphold your values, unconditionally, forever.

Our chapter also provides an environment for our members to serve others, both on campus and in our community.  Tri Delta raises more for philanthropy than any other sorority on LSU’s campus.  I am most proud of Tri Delta’s support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  We visit St. Jude each year, which provides us with a deep appreciation for the needs of children stricken with cancer.  Our chapter raised over $200,000 for St. Jude in the past year alone, and national Tri Delta fundraising has made a $60 million dollar commitment to fund Tri Delta Place in Memphis to house patients and their families.  St. Jude also holds a special place in my heart because for many years my hometown of Minden, Louisiana has raised more per capita than any other city in the nation.

LSU and Tri Delta are a powerful combination, not only enhancing your college experience but changing you for life.

We look forward to seeing you at the 3rd house down the row and Geaux Tigers!
